It's All Started with a Story
Blessing—Born from the Story of a 21-Year-Old Girl
Blessing began with a story that broke our hearts but fueled our mission. In a small village, a bright 21-year-old girl faced a tragedy that should never have happened. Each month, she endured pain and irritation during her periods, assuming it was normal. She relied on commonly available sanitary pads, never knowing they were filled with harmful chemicals and plastics.
Over time, her discomfort worsened, turning into unbearable pain. By the time she sought medical help, it was too late. She was diagnosed with a severe uterine infection caused by prolonged exposure to toxic chemicals in those pads. The infection was so advanced that, to save her life, doctors had to remove her uterus. At just 21 years old, she lost not only her health but also the chance to become a mother.
The Turning Point
Awareness to Action
Her story was a wake-up call. It wasn’t just one girl’s tragedy—it was a glimpse into a widespread issue. Around the same time, the Toxics Link report in 2022 confirmed what we feared: many conventional sanitary pads contain harmful chemicals, plastics, and toxins that can cause infections, hormonal imbalances, and even cancer. We knew we had to act.

For five years, we had already been conducting awareness campaigns. We’ve organized more than 2,000 house campaigns and over 200 school and college awareness campaigns, educating thousands of women and girls about menstrual health and hygiene. But after hearing the 21-year-old’s story and learning the truth through the Toxics Link report, we realized awareness wasn’t enough—women needed access to safe, healthy alternatives. That’s when we founded Blessing in 2022.

As a Sustainable Model
In 2024, Blessing evolved into a revenue-generating model to ensure we could sustain our mission independently. By selling safe, high-quality sanitary pads, we could fund more awareness campaigns, provide free sanitary products to underprivileged girls, and continue our mission of protecting women’s health. Every pad sold helps us ensure that no girl or woman has to endure what the 21-year-old did.
